The Team
Hannah

Hannah is the newest member of our team at Enchanting Smiles Family Dentistry. She joined us in November, 2016. She’s originally from Wilmington, NC but moved to Chatham County at an early age and has lived here most of her life.

Hannah has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UNC (that’s chapel hill by implication, yes?) and completed her Dental Assisting Certificate in 2008. Hannah’s diverse dental experience includes clinical and chair side assisting, treatment plan coordination and clinical management. We are delighted to have such a multi-talented member on our team.

She has a 5 year old son and enjoys watching him compete in sports. Her hobbies include crafting, decorating, running and weight training.

Favorite food: sushi or Mexican (it’s a toss up!)
Favorite color: lime green
Favorite sport: football
Things that make me smile: her son and riding 4 wheelers
Question I wish I would have asked during the interview: Do y’all like to hug? [Poor Hannah. Does she like to be hugged? NO! But, is she trying to get comfortable with hugging because she works in an office full of people who love to hug? Also no.]
Teresa

Teresa Austin joined Enchanting Smiles Family Dentistry in Augist, 2014 when she moved to Pittsboro from her hometown of Boone NC. Teresa Graduated from Central Piedmont Community College and has been a dental hygienist for over 20 years. In addition to dental hygiene, she has worked as a dental assistant, oral surgery assistant and a treatment plan coordinator. Her outgoing personality and dental experience make her a perfect match for our team.

Teresa enjoys refinishing and repurposing “junk” from flea market finds, interior decorating, crafting, gardening, cooking and hosting parties.

Lisa

Lisa Barnes has been with our practice since July 2011. She began assisting in 2000 and is now a Certified Dental Assistant II. Lisa also trained and has worked for several years in the front office side of dentistry. She works primarily in an administrative capacity now, working her magic with insurance and scheduling. She’s one of the smiling, happy voices you’ll hear when you call the office.

A Chatham county native, she has one son, Brandon, whom she adores (even though he’s grown and blushes when he says that).

Enchanting Smiles Family Dentistry is definitely an office divided as far as college sports is concerned. Lisa Barnes represents the NC State fans quite well. Her sense of humor, positive attitude and non-stop smile help contribute to the fun, friendly office environment. Watch out though, she’s quite good at the occasional practical joke. Her main goal is to keep our patients healthy and happy.

Lisa Whitaker is the Office Manager at Enchanting Smiles and has been a part of the dental team since summer of 2009. She is a UNC Chapel Hill graduate who brings years of sales and management experience to the practice. Lisa is also the sole Yankee on the team. She was born in New Jersey, attended high school in Puerto Rico and is a diehard Tarheel fan who resides in Pittsboro. She has very handsome twin sons who keep her very busy when they’re home from college.

Summer is her favorite season, as she enjoys camping, boating and spending time at the beach in the sunshine…

Speaking of sunshine, Lisa is our warm ray of sunshine who greets you and the first smiling face you’ll see here. She updates and gathers new information (including seeing the newest pictures of your grandchildren and finding out who made the honor roll). Lisa loves meeting new people and seeing our patients leave with big smiles on their faces.

Marion

Marion Parks has been a caring dental hygienist here in Pittsboro for over 36 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1981 and yes, she is a die hard Carolina fan.

Marion has two daughters and two sons in law. Sandra and Steve have 2 children; a son, Steven and a daughter, Parker. Elizabeth and Blaine have one son so far; Colby is named after his late grandfather.

We cannot leave out the four legged furry children. Marion is a proud doggy mommy to Penny. She has granddogs as well in Penny’s parents, Bammer and Bella. They all make up a lovely yellow lab family.

Marion is a great friend and it’s impossible not to love her instantly. Somehow, patients manage to tell her all their secrets without even realizing it.

Molly

She obtained her radiology training and certificate in 2014. Molly has been Dr. Laura’s right hand woman and girl Friday since then. She continues to be a jack-of-all-trades, as she’s capable of handling various tasks in the front office as well as her responsibilities assisting the hygienists and doctor in the back. She strives to learn new skills. Prior to working at Enchanting Smiles Family Dentistry, she worked at Lowe’s Foods and Carolina Survey Research Lab.

Molly is a funny, friendly team member who has lived in Chatham county all her life.
